Solar farms now viable without subsidy or tariffs

Solafields is expecting to commence construction of two of its solar farms on a subsidy-free basis early in 2020.
Reduced solar module prices, reduced engineering costs and a reduced cost of finance have all enabled large scale solar to become viable, with no revenues other that the UK wholesale power price.
The economics are very tight and solar farm leases now need to be 50 years long to give enough time to recover the capital cost of the installation.
